The Robert H. and Clarice Smith New York Gallery of American History

Reception: Up to 450 guests

With direct access from Central Park West, our expanded lobby and its vaulted ceilings make for a grand entrance to the Museum. The Robert H. and Clarice Smith Gallery strikes a perfect balance between history and modernity. Its six original columns, built in 1904, feature digital monitors which can be customized to make the gallery your own. Interactive touch screens and highlights from the Museum’s rich collection illuminate seminal themes in American history with a special emphasis on New York.

Whether used solely for a reception, or in conjunction with a program or seated dinner in one of our other spaces, guests will have the special opportunity to explore works from our permanent collection. The Smith New York Gallery also serves as the ideal place for registration, breakfasts, and even cocktail receptions, and for daytime conferences.
