Volunteers play an important role in the operations of the New-York Historical Society. Volunteers work in a variety of departments including Education, Public Programs, Museum, Library and Development. We seek a diverse group of volunteers who can apply their skills, interests and experiences to a wide range of short-term and project-specific assignments. Long-term and on-going assignments are also available. To inquire about volunteering, send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org indicating your area of interest and attach your resume. If your skills and qualifications match our needs we will contact you; if not, we will keep your information on file and contact you if an appropriate position becomes available. Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the New-York Historical Society.
The New-York Historical Society engages volunteers in an exciting and comprehensive Docent training program. Docents are well-versed in the collections of the New-York Historical Society and lead public and private tours several times per month. For more information about the Docent Program, please contact our Docent Co-ordinator, Lois Stainman at email@example.com.
