The accession record states that these chairs belonged to Rufus King, an early eighteenth-century New York politician. This information was given by the donors, who are king descendants. The size, construction, and poor quality of carving suggest that these chairs are late nineteenth-century reproductions.
Due to ongoing research, information about this object is subject to change.
