Bronze struck medal with obverse depicting allegorical head of France wearing Phrygian cap and crowned with oak wreath, facing right, with oak tree at left and distant view of Paris at right; legend: "REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE". Reverse depicts flying winged figure of Fame with palm frond and laurel branch in one hand, her other hand supporting seated semi-nude youth holding burning torch in his left hand; distant view of the exposition grounds below; date "1900" at right of field; legend: "EXPOSITION.UNIVERSELLE.INTERNATIONALE."; below center is rectangular panel within ornate cartouche, bearing inscription: "S.KENDALL." Medal is inset into square cloth-covered fitted case with white silk satin and red silk velvet interior.
