Bronze struck medal with obverse showing Washington statue on pedestal, emitting rays of light, surrounded by thirteen stars and dated: "1783 - 1883." Reverse bears three roundels at center bearing symbols of the City of New York with inscription above and below, all surrounded by stars: "TO COMMEMORATE/CENTENNIAL ANNIVERSARY/OF THE EVACUATION OF NEW YORK/BY THE BRITISH/AND THE ERECTION/BY THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE/OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK OF THE/WASHINGTON STATUE/IN/WALL STREET." Rectangular black cloth-bound book-like fitted case.
