White silk ribbon topped with pin-back badge printed in black "WARDEN" on coated paper and surrounded by four stars; surrounded by brass scalloped-edge rectangular frame. Ribbon printed in gold "BOARD OF/ FIRE WARDENS/ DOVER, N.J./ OCT. 4TH, 1898."; central image of star surmounting two crossed flags of red, white and blue applied silk ribbon; crossed batons beneath. Bottom of ribbon edged in metal fringe.
