Description: 

Ovoid wood bandbox and lid; sides of box covered with paper printed with an image of Napoleon Bonaparte dressed in his characteristic bicorn hat and a greatcoat being confronted by a British soldier with a palm tree, fallen log, and bunches of fauna in the background, printed in green, brown, and white on blue ground; lid covered with paper printed with the same scene in green, brown, and white on blue ground bordered by a swirled floral motif; edge of lid covered in paper printed with geometric pattern consisting of repeating loops, circles, and rays in white and green on a blue ground; base and interior lined with newspaper; lap joints secured with finishing nails.
