Description 
Ovoid cardboard bandbox and lid covered with paper printed on each side and lid with historical scene of camp with several rows of tents and row of marching soldiers in background, with large mounted figure of General Zachary Taylor and smaller figures in foreground, in desert landscape, in brown and white, on blue ground; printed inscription at top of box; edge of lid covered in paper printed with geometric pattern of abstract patterns in several shades of blue, on white ground; lap joints secured by stitching; paper maker's label pasted to inside of lid.

Gallery Label 
This object was once part of the folk art collection of Elie Nadelman (1882-1946), the avant-garde sculptor. From 1924 to 1934, Nadelman's collection was displayed in his Museum of Folk Arts, located in the Riverdale section of the Bronx. The Historical Society purchased Nadelman's entire collection in 1937.
