Bronze struck medal with obverse depicting standing figures of Native American and British military officer within central roundel; legend around line border: "IN COMMEMORATION OF THE BATTLE OF LAKE GEORGE FOUGHT SEPTEMBER 8 1755"; inscription in exergue: "HENDRICK . JOHNSON." Reverse contains heraldic device at center, surrounded by laurel wreath and surmounted by British royal crown; legend around line border: "SOCIETY OF COLONIAL WARS IN THE STATE OF NEW YORK/MONUMENT DEDICATED SEPTEMBER 8 1903."

Founded in 1892, the Society of Colonial Wars admits male descendants of British or Colonial soldiers and of colonial civil and military officials from the period 1620-1775. In the 1755 Battle of Lake George, British forces led by General William Johnson and their Indian allies led by King Hendrick of the Mohawks defeated the French.
