Brass and lead belt plate; lead-backed, oval brass plate with two hooks on back, and stamped lettering on front and mark on back.
Gallery Label: 
According to accession records, this plate was worn on the cartridge box shoulder belt of Private William H. Althause of the 128th New York Volunteers during the Civil War.
