Description
Dark blue wool single-breasted artillery 2nd Lieutenant's uniform coat; 1" closed stand-up collar (1 hook and eye), with single gold bar at each end of shoulder straps against red ground, 9 artillery buttons down the front of the bodice (2 missing); closed false cuffs with 3 buttons on each 8 1/4 (flat) sleeve; 4 panels on the back of the bodice; inside lined with dark green silk, a horizontal slit pocket at each breast, front of bodice lightly padded and quilted, sleeves lined with white twill-weave linen; all buttons have shield-breasted eagle clutching a branch and arrows in its talons, with "A" on the shield.
