Who will win the inchworm sprint? Will the egret find his way out? And can you find the mouse hiding in each illustration? Join author Robert Forbes as he reads his animal poems and meet his beastly menagerie! His books Let’s Have a Bite and Beastly Feasts introduce children to the wonders and playfulness of rhyming poetry. The illustrations by Ronald Searle are filled with energy and detail—a little mouse hides in each one!
At this storytelling event and author conversation, children will meet an emu, a crocodile, a goose, inchworms, an egret, a rattlesnake, and more! Mr. Forbes will also speak about his poetry, what inspires him, and he’ll share what his favorite animal is!
About the author Robert Forbes
“He spends a lot of time looking out the window,” read one of Robert Forbes’ 7th grade report cards. Even so, he managed to graduate from school and university, and joined the family business. He enjoys his work, writing poetry, and still cherishes time spent looking out windows!
