EVENT DETAILS

The New-York Historical Society offers a variety of exceptional group tours of our special exhibitions. Now individuals also can enjoy an in-depth exploration of the exhibition The Civil War in 50 Objects with one of our curator-trained docents. For one low price you will receive a tour ticket and all-day museum admission! Renowned Civil War and Lincoln scholar Harold Holzer, has hand selected these 50 artifacts to create a dramatically original account of the war. Items include the impeccably preserved uniform of a Union soldier, a wooden draft wheel containing the names of prospective draftees and a soldier's footlocker, still packed with its belongings. With the aid of these objects, this tour will capture the experience of the war from all perspectives - Union and Confederate, military and civilian, black and white, male and female.
