Chocolate was not always sold as a candy bar! See, smell, and taste colonial hot chocolate—watch as American Heritage Chocolate educators grinds cocoa beans, add spices like red pepper, nutmeg and cinnamon, and heat up hot chocolate to taste. Don’t forget to get your own to bring home!
Taste of Chocolate Workshop

Be surprised by the variety of tastes that go into making chocolate! Get up close and personal with all the ingredients—ones that are still used today by Mars chocolate! Learn about each step of the chocolate making process and taste each ingredient—ground cocoa paste, cocoa butter and more. At the end participants will taste test a chocolate square.
Participants will sign up for time slots on site at the American Heritage Chocolate demonstration table. Tickets are free with museum admission, are very limited, and are available on a first come, first serve basis.
